Dalrymple National Park 28-29 Oct 2017

Trip Leader – Wayne, 4 vehicles attended the trip to the Burdekin River, Dalrymple National Park.

The site is approx. 40 kms north of Charters Towers along the Gregory Development Road.

The group arrived and setup camp by lunchtime Saturday. The river was fast flowing but we were able to safely swim along the edge of the river.

The weather was quite warm so we had frequent dips in to the water during the afternoon.

A short drive up the river enabled us to find enough firewood to use the camp ovens for tea, and see out the night around the campfire.

Sunday morning was at a leisurely pace, considering we did not have to travel far to return to Townsville.

Most went in for a swim again and we packed up left before midday.
